From a Hanafi perspective, are we allowed to consume lobsters?

الجواب حامدا ومصليا ومسلما

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

According to the Hanafi perspective, from the sea animals, only the Fish Species (Samak) is permissible to eat. [1]
Lobsters aren’t regarded as Fish and thus, will be not be permissible to consume.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best.
