Can we use live bait in fishing?
Answer(s):
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
In principle, it is impermissible to use live bait (animals) for fishing, as this is causing undue harm to the animals utilised. Nonetheless, dead animals (natural bait) may be utilised. [1]
There are many effective artificial alternatives readily available; these may be adopted instead of live bait. [Refer to notes below]

اگر کیچوے کو اول ماردیا جاوے پھر اُس سے شکار کیا جاوے جائز ہے، اس وقت ایک شکاری نے بیان کیا کہ مردہ کیچوے سے بھی ویسی ہی مچھلی آتی ہے

مذکورہ تینوں قسم کی اشیاء اور جانوروں سے مچھلی کا شکار جائز ہے، مگر شرط یہ ہے کہ زندہ جانور کو کانٹے میں نہ لگایا جائے، بلکہ پہلے اس کو جان سے مار دیا جائے اس کے بعد مردہ چیز کو کانٹے میں لگا کر شکار کیا جائے، زندہ جانور کو اس طرح تکلیف دینا سخت گناہ ہے
